Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to healing and personal growth that recognizes the body as an essential source of information, regulation, and wisdom.

Rather than focusing only on thoughts, stories, or analysis, somatic therapy works with physical sensations, nervous system responses, posture, breath, movement, and felt experience. The premise is simple but profound, our bodies hold experiences - especially stress and trauma - and healing happens when the body is included in the process.

Who is this for?

This work is for leaders, founder, visionaries, practitioner - those who carry responsibility for others, for systems, for outcomes - and are ready to relate to leadership differently.

In sessions and classes at Selah, you are not asked to perform, push, or improve yourself. You are invited to slow down, listen, and build trust with your body as a source of guidance.

Leadership Continuity (12 months) - Somatic informed coaching & support for leaders holding sustained responsibility and complex decision making. This opportunity centers capacity building and steady containment across seasons of work, rest, and change. Supportive for executive directors/CEOs & nonprofit leaders, community leaders, founders & solopreneurs, senior clinicians & systems leaders, board-facing roles and executive leadership.

Focused Leadership Support (6 months) - Somatic informed coaching & support for leaders navigating a defined transition, role shift, or a period of increased responsibility or challenge. Supportive for leaders experiencing acute transitions, new role entry, navigating accountability, and those with time-bound needs organizationally or individually.

Executive Rest addresses a critical gap in leadership development - leaders are often trained in strategy and performance, but not in the capacity to hold sustained responsibility, visibility, and decision making without burnout or collapse.

Traditional leadership development focuses on skills and outcomes, but overlooks the embodied and emotional load leaders carry, particularly in public-facing or mission-critical roles.
